23 February 2025 – D-Day set!

James: Last night, after a number of conversations with Michelle, Diana, and Amber, it became clear I am needed right away in Kenya, so I purchased a Delta plane ticket to leave Atlanta March 9, just two weeks away.  A number of things revealed this need, some I can share, some I cannot.

I need to work more closely with Stephen, the owner of the construction company that is building the site.  Michelle has been working with him over WhatsApp, but he needs closer support.  Secondly, more planning is needed for furnishing the buildings, and this is best done in Kenya.  Next, more needs to be done in establishing relationships with local farmers, merchants, widows, and government workers to prepare for operations to begin.  Policies, procedures, training materials, and more must be created in three languages, English, Swahili, and Kisii.

I am hoping to hire Ian, whom I already know, to be my right-hand-man to assist in all these endeavors.  Please pray for him, as he lost his income as a cab driver when another driver wrecked the car.  Apparently, the owner did not carry replacement insurance.  Once I get there, we will begin the hiring process.

I also applied yesterday for my Class I permit to enter Kenya as a missionary.  It was a bit tough navigating their website, but I got it figured out and was able to upload the necessary documents.  While this is being processed, I can enter Kenya with a tourist visa, as I did before.  The rest of my family will enter as dependents, under my permit – at least that is how it seems.  Please pray for no delays in processing.

Also, I will be purchasing a year long family medical and emergency insurance policy from AIG.  Please pray I get what I actually need to get – and that I will never have to use it!

I am also asking for prayers for spiritual discernment.

I will share more as things unfold.
